Atlanta

July 6, 2007 | Interesting People

I’m leaving today for Atlanta. ICRS is a favorite time of the year for me.

Imagine that you love candy, and once a year you get to attend a conference candy.jpgwhere all the new candies are rolled out for everyone to taste, and to take home.

That’s what ICRS is to the booklover. I’ll meet my favorite authors and musical artists. I’ll sit under the speaking of my favorite speakers. I’ll be immersed in training as an author and speaker. I’ll do media interviews and booksignings for my 2007 books. I’ll connect with my wonderful publishers.

And I’ll spend lots of time with really close friends in the industry. ICRS is the only place that I get to do that.

It’s a writers’ paradise–at least I think so.  (more…)

Love this. . .

July 5, 2007 | T. Suzanne Eller

“When we seek out that which is lost, we are loving our neighbor as we love ourselves and valuing people as God values them. If we as the Church keep this as our core focus and mission, we will never become an empty building or mere tourist attraction. We will be so occupied and fulfilled with doing what the Church was placed on this earth to do – taking what is inside the Church out into a broken world – that our doors will never close. The lost will be drawn to us because of our open arms and our loving, safe environment. – Christina Caine, Stop Acting Like a Christian, Just Be One (Regal, 2007)

Active Christian Media broadcast: The Mom I Want to Be

July 2, 2007 | Media Interviews

I got to hang out with Stacy Harp at Active Christian Media. We were supposed to talk for 15-20 minutes, but it turned into 45. Isn’t that how it works? You start talking with a new friend and time flies.

Listen to this broadcast right now.

Stacy and I talked about dealing with a painful past, why forgiveness is more healing than we realize, how to give your children great memories than you received and much, much more.

Ten years of a new life

July 1, 2007 | T. Suzanne Eller

Today my friend, Darrin, came up to me in the hallway.

“Ten years, Suz,” he said.

Wow. Ten years. It didn’t seem possible.

You see, ten years ago my friend tried to take his life.
