When I think of the many blessings. . .

August 4, 2007 | Nurturing Family

I think of this: my beautiful daughter, Leslie. This is the intro from The Mom I Want to Be: Rising Above Your Past to Give Your Kids a Great Future:

She was fragile and beautiful with blue eyes and wispy blond hair. I touched her tiny face and was amazed at how awesome she was, but I was also afraid. Would I repeat the mistakes of my past? Would this baby one day carry the same burdens that I did as a child? And the most pressing question of all:

How could I be a good mother when I didn’t know how?

Suzie again: That’s a question that God answered over and over. He showed me how to move away from the past, to embrace the gift of Leslie, Ryan, and Melissa, and how to be the mom I hoped to be. This is that beautiful baby girl, now a woman, married on May 14, 2007. Isn’t she beautiful? Ahh, God, you are remarkable!

  1. Sue says:

She is beautiful! I have struggled with the same thoughts as a mother. The grace of God is a beautiful thing isn’t it?!

    Blessings,
    Sue
