Are you a leader of a study group or book club? Would you like to add a fun twist to your meetings? Would you like a free, autographed copy of one of these books to use in your book club/study group?

Are you leading a study group or book club, and are looking for a book for mothers with a painful past–women who want to move forward, unpack unhealthy parenting baggage, and learn how to let go, heal, and give your children greater memories than you received?

Or are you  in a 20something book club for women looking for a great, fun, in-depth look at what it means to be a biblical women in your culture and world?

Or maybe you are a youth pastor, Sunday school teacher, or teen leader of a group of students, and you want to help them live a life of relevant faith, making their faith their own? Or just want to share a story a week from a book packed with stories from faith-filled teens who have found hope through Jesus.

Or perhaps you are in a parenting book club and you’re about to launch a discussion on parenting teens?

If so, contact me! I’d love to connect with your group if you are studying any of the above books.

I would love to meet with your book club on the phone, participating in one session (as you lead it, or as I lead it), and answering questions or just talking about the book or issues. It would be amazing to connect with you, and hopefully this adds a fun element to your book club/small cell group/meeting.

Let me know if you are interested. Are there strings attached? Only the ones I tie around the book as I send your free autographed copy to you as the leader of the group. : )

    Suzanne,
I don’t want a free copy, but would love an autographed copy. I live in Fredericksburg, VA and Jeff Sumpolec suggested your book when we were discussing my daughter and I told him I had to learn how to be a better mom instead of a counselor. You see we adopted Melissa. We have known her since the age of 2.5, she was our neighbor. When Melissa was 9 her grandmother died of a brain tumor. We picked her up at the funeral to keep her for a week so her grandfather could figure out what to do and she just never went home.

I used to run a non-profit for at risk kids 15 - 21 years old for 7 years and we are now sure that this was Gods plan to get us prepared to raise Melissa. She was abused in all the ways you could be. It is sad what you don’t know about your neighbors. She has a true Borderline Personality Disorder, but is our special angel and we would change nothing if it meant not having her at all. The good news is that she is now 14 years old and in May chose to go into a Residential Facility to work on her anger and other issues, but if you know anything about BPD you know it is very hard and will be a long process.

Anyway, I did not mean to make this a book. She loves the BECKA series, which his wife so graciously autographed for her. Now that I see that you work with teens maybe you have something among your books you think she might like, but for me I really just wanted you to tell me what your book costs and to ask you if you would mind an autographed copy. Jeff can not speak more highly of you and your husband. Since I’ve always counseled teens (not professionally)and was Melissa’s mentor before her mother and have never had my own children, just take care of everyone elses, I have begun to realize that I need guidance on how to be just the mom and not their counselor. Again, your book was what came to Jeff’s mind first.

Thanks for letting me tell you my story. I happen to be in Utah visiting Melissa until Saturday. Our promise to her is that as she is working on her things, we will work on ours. I feel this is one of the areas in my life I can become much better at with Gods help.

You have my e-mail. My website is very old, as I was an international speaker back then and then had a brain injury afterward. It still sits there under construction and very outdated, but you are welcome to look at who you are speaking too.

My phone number and address are as follows:

    Fredericksburg, VA 22401
    540-368-5195

If you wouldn’t mind saying a prayer for Melissa it would be most appreciated as well. Thanks again for lending your ear and time.

God Bless and Make It a GREAT day,
    Jamie Allen

    Hi Suzanne,

A few friends & myself have been meeting every other week for a bible study based on a book… we just selected your book “The Woman I Am Becoming” even though we are a group of young 30-something’s. I just finished the first 3 chapters… I love it! I just sent a message to our youth director to recommend it for a young women’s option too and offer to be a mentor. I’m eager to get the “The Mom I Want to Be” book but it’s not available locally at our book stores so I’ll have to order online. Your website is great, and your stories are inspiring. May God continue to bless you & lead you to sharing more of his Word in such an approachable and motivating way. Thank you, Liz Sawyer
