The TCW Article
I just finished a wonderful radio interview with Bennett and Joyce Luke of America’s Wake Up Call, a nationally syndicated program that reaches many. I want to thank them for the opportunity to share my heart on the issues of teens and also mentoring.
To listen to this interview, go to their download site and click on T. Suzanne Eller, The Woman I Am Becoming.
They contacted me after Joyce read the TCW article. You can read it here.

2007 Womens Conference, OKC
September 17, 2007 | calendar
I hope to see some of you at the 2007 Women’s Conference at Crossroads Church in Oklahoma City, OK on September 21-22. I will be teaching the workshop, “The Mom I Want to Be-Rising Above Your Past to Give Your Kids (and you!) a Great Future”. I am excited to speak to women about a God who heals and who gives us a greater legacy for our own lives, and those of our families.
Gracia Burnham, 21st Century Missionary who was kidnapped, kept in the Phillipine jungles for a year, watched her husband die, and who continues to share her faith in a powerful way will be a keynote at this conference. She is the author of In the Presence of My Enemies. It will be a privilige to meet her, and hear her story.

If you are one of those, and especially if you are asking for additional information about mentoring, I’m listening! I promise I’ll share more information right here on DTB very soon. It’s obvious that there are a lot of amazing women who want to step in and make a difference in the lives of girls. (more…)

No paycheck?

Quote: Zane and Marsha work at their local church but not for it. They’re not on the payroll. They hold jobs in real estate and civil government, yet hours of each week — and sometimes large chunks at a time — are devoted to serving God without any expectation of monetary remuneration.
I met with our pastor and his wife the other night, along with a few other friends just to hang out and eat Mexican food and dream about the possibilities for our church and community. I noticed how tired they both looked. Yet they shared their goals and dreams with enthusiasm.
That next morning my pastor’s wife called to check in with me about an upcoming women’s event (I’ll be the speaker). It occurred to me that she was up late the night before, and now in the early morning hours was working again.
“It’s their job.” (more…)

Moving

I will be saying goodbye to my home of 13 years. There are a lot of memories in this house. It’s where Ryan, Melissa, and Leslie grew up. It’s where my horses play. We will move in 29 days to a home near the university where Richard is studying.
I can’t wait, and yet I have waited–for four years. . .
Has that ever happened to you? You know that things will change, and yet nothing does. I knew we were going to move–toward God’s plan, away from familiarity and comfort, nearly four years ago. I write about this today on Boomer Babes Rock, in a post titled “MOVE“. Here is an excerpt from that post:
