Isn’t this exciting?
September 5, 2008 | T. Suzanne Eller
I’m excited, watching the political race unfold. I won’t use this blog as a political endorsement because I don’t think that’s appropriate, and frankly I still am undecided.

But isn’t it awesome that we have the opportunity to watch these candidates shake up history? We are in the front seat as racial and gender lines are broken for the first time in our country’s history. My son called me yesterday early, wanting to know my opinion of Palin’s speech the night before.
I asked him, “do you ever remember ANYONE caring about a VP speech, much less tuning in to the millions?” Just the fact that my 20something son, and the rest of my young adult children, are keyed in and excited says that this is one to remember.
I have a lot of reading to do. I want to know the issues, the stances, the heartbeat of these candidates, and I want to pray for each of these because in our culture if you run for office you and your loved ones are scrutinized beyond what seems bearable, and yet they volunteer for it anyway. I visited a few blogs and pundit sites to see what was being said, and a lot of it is brutal, no matter whose side you are on.
Anyway, I’m glued to this election, primed to cast my vote, even if Richard says I cancel out his vote every time (I’m Republican; he’s Democrat), but it’s not about party lines for me now or then. It’s watching history being made, and getting to be a part of the process.
How cool is that?
At Momlogic today, my post is: Tattered Legacies: When the Past Hinders Your Parenting. Hope you will check it out.

Normally I hate politics. Really. I only vote out of civic duty. But this year, I’m actually INTERESTED!! I can’t wait to see how this election turns out!

September 6th, 2008 at 8:54 pmMy family is very political minded and it seems to be a constant conversation. We are actually pretty psyched about the election, now. We were very disappointed at the candidate choices….but things are heating up now.
Palin rocked the house! You can bet this is going to be very interesting!
I pray for our country and it’s leaders. We must choose a candidate with the closest moral values as us (to God). God does not call us to ever compromise. Not even with elected officials. Especially with a LEADER!
It’s very important that we do the right thing!
Looking forward to watching God work in this next few months.
