Coincidences?

October 13, 2008 | Books, Ministry Life

My publicist sent me a note telling me that a woman had just posted what God was doing through a Bible study in her church on a blog. She gave me the link and suggested I stop by and read it.

The Bible study was over my book, The Mom I Want to Be. I sent the blogger a message and asked if I could join in on the study via phone one morning.

She was excited! In her response, she mentioned the name of her church and the location. I laughed when I realized it was about an hour away.

I e-mailed back. “How about I just drive to your Bible study and hang out with you guys for the morning?”

The response was kind of like this:

yahooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Okay, she didn’t actually say yahoo because she’s a cultured and grace-filled lady, but the women have responded with excitement and enthusiasm.

So, it’s a done deal. November 6th I will be at a church in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.

This weekend I received another e-mail. It is from one of the women who is in the study group. Her note to me was private and precious, but it is clear that God is stopping the world for a moment to minister to her and perhaps answer some questions she’s been asking for a while.

Coincidence? I don’t know. I struggle when Christians tie together random circumstances and call it a God-thing, or blame it all on the other side when things don’t turn out. But I read in Scripture where God ministers in tangible ways to those who are hurting, seeking, praying, stepping out in faith, or simply standing in the wilderness asking, “where are you in all of this?”.

And I feel Him in the middle of this.

I travel a lot to speak. But every once in a while a door opens and I get to slip through because it’s a moment in time that God has prepared for a specific reason, or a specific person, or for a reason I may or may not have all the details for this side of Heaven.

Some days I absolutely love what I get to do.

I bet they will be so thrilled to have access to you. What a sweet and precious blessing!

You will rock their study time!

That is so AWESOME! That will be one Bible study they will never forget. I’ll be praying for you and the women in the group because I feel you will be making an impact in at least one life that day, if not all of them.
    Have a blessed day!

I am soooooo excited about it! When I heard you were going to do a conference call with us I was thrilled, but when I heard the new plan I was just amazed at how God works! What a blessing!
