Winter, winter, go away…

February 25, 2009 | Just thinking out loud

daffodilsI’m craving spring, are you? Daffodils poked their heads up in a few spots. I feel bad for them because cold, frigid weather will get them. But I appreciate their bravery.

I know spring is near when they start unloading the garden supplies in front of Wal Mart. I saw a truck there yesterday.

My roses are trying to bud. My trees have tiny buds on them. Our up and down weather — one day freezing, one day almost warm — is tricking trees and shrubs into thinking spring is coming.

I’m itching to buy flowers and mulch. I can almost feel it in my fingertips.

I’m a spring kind of girl. I’m ready for color and warmth and outdoor days where the sun touches my face.

What about you? Are you ready for spring?
