48 hours

March 3, 2009 | T. Suzanne Eller

collarboneToday is my 4th day in my chair. I can think of the 100 things I need to do, and I try and then realize I just can’t do them right now.

48 hours. That’s what the doctor said today after looking at the X-ray. The bone has migrated, causing pain that is a little intense. 48 hours to sit in the chair and let the bone try to move back in place.  “We don’t want surgery, right Suzie?”

No, You are right, Dr. I don’t want surgery.

There are moments in life that hit you by surprise. Moments when you can’t do what you want. Moments when life HAS to stop because there is no other choice.

So what will I do with this next 48 hours? I will read Mary DeMuth’s new novel. I will watch a movie. I will smile gracefully and accept help, if needed. I’ll read your comments and thank God for friends.

And I will heal.

Yes, ma’am. I will heal.
