live free, run after your dreams

November 10, 2009 | Knowing Christ,Living Free,Ministry Life,Proverbs 31 Ministries

Living free is intentional. It’s not always easy, and sometimes the progress seems slow. But it’s also rewarding. It helps you and me discover who we were intended to be from the very beginning. It also helps us to discover what we are meant to do! This month Proverbs 31 Ministries magazine featured my article:  Pursuing Your Passion.

What does it mean to pursue your passion? Is it what you do or what you believe? Is it who you are or who you run after? I hope you’ll check out the article: Pursuing Your Passion.

Pretty soon you are going to be on the cover of a Wheaties box!!!

  2. Renee Swope says:

Hi Suzie! I’ve been planning to write you for weeks, ever since I read your article. It really encouraged my heart and helped me remember why I felt called to write a book. With all that has been going on, I’ve lost sight of my passion. Overwhelmed by life, my heart is pooped! But your article rekindled my passion to help women overcome their doubts by finding their confidence in the transforming love, power and presence of Christ. Thanks for being you my sweet friend. I want to be like you when I grow up!

    Hugs,
    Renee

  3. Michelle Brooks says:

I’ve known since I was six years old that I wanted to be a writer and speaker; however, I had no story to tell. That is until my two special needs children came into my life. I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sports Medicine and until my youngest son, Riley slipped out of the house while no one was looking, only to be found minutes later in our neighbor’s pool, that I realized just how wrong I had been in believing that I had wasted those years. My education gave me the skills, and God gave me the strength to perform CPR on my little boy. He was 7 at the time. Both of my children have been through more than most people who live well into their 90′s, but in the process, they have touched so many lives that I could not begin to count them, and I’m sure there are many more that I am clueless about.

Being the mom of special needs children is a very isolating role, and everything I seem to have read on the subject of children and coping with their disabilities has seemed so depressing. I have always has a slightly warped sense of humor and can find the absurd in just about anything. Some of my writing is serious and yet some can leave people crying due to laughing so hard.

My dream is to write a book of encouragement for moms of special needs children. My children and I have seen more than our share of miracles and other moms in my situation need to hear that while not everything turns out just like you want it, there are miracles all around them as well as laughter.
