Dear friend: How can you tell?
July 16, 2010 | Faith: Knowing Christ
I read your post on “Live As If You Are Loved”. I get it, but never in my wildest imagination have I thought of this type of love or attitude. But I have no idea if I love Christ like this, or not? Am I this way? How can I tell? Anonymous
Dear friend,
How can you tell? What a great question. You can tell if you aren’t striving to be enough, to be accepted, and you accept His great gift and accept that fact that You are His and worth loving.
And loving Him back? It’s when it’s more than just church or rules. It’s a desire to know Him. The odd thing is, A, is that it doesn’t come as a gift from Heaven, just dropping in our lap.
It’s intentional. It’s reading His word, not to strike it off a to-do list, but because you know it has the potential to draw you close. The more that you make room in your life for a relationship with God — prayer, reading His word, talking to Him honestly about everything, the more that you start to desire and even need this. That’s when you cross over from church goer or Christian to knowing and running after God.
It’s a beautiful thing, my friend.

What a profound post Suzie. Very informative. It makes one think about they treat all relationships. I watch a 30 minute sermon this morning that goes quite well with this. I’ll be making a post on my wife blog about it and include references to the two posts here that relate.
I love how God works! Awesomeness!
Happy Friday!
