She Thinks
July 22, 2010 | Books, Feelings: Intentional freedom
If Jesus came to give us abundant life, why are we so bored or disenchanted with faith?
Debbie Alsdorf challenges us to live wild faith in the book The Faith Dare. Faith that dares to believe that knowing Christ changes you completely. That there’s something more.
The Faith Dare is a 30-day challenge for women who want to develop a habit of focusing on God and nurturing a daily awareness of his presence.
I want that. I need that.
She describes faith as a pilgrimage, and encourages us to take a close look at the habits of our heart.
The habits we wish we had, the way we look at life, the way we really see faith, and how to begin looking up more than we did before.
This is more than a review of a really great book. For me, this is a personal invitation to join a woman of intimate faith on a journey.
UPDATE: I first talked about this great book on July 1, but am now three weeks into the Faith Dare. It’s a book that I will keep on my shelf, pull out and re-read, and the red underlines in the book just keep on growing. It’s a book I wish I had written because knowing Jesus is such a part of what I want to share with others. But more than that, I need it. I need that daily challenge to see Christ in a fresh, new way. I hope you will consider this book as a study guide, or for your discipleship groups. It’s a “She Thinks” five star book.
