Be you
February 14, 2011 | Feelings: Intentional freedom, Just me, Ministry Life
“Be you,” Liz Curtis Higgs said.
Great advice from a woman who has published numerous bestsellers, who has spoken over 1600 times, who has traveled the globe to share her story of the “bad girls of the Bible” who found life in Jesus.
I laughed a lot. But at the end of her speech, I took away one thing: be you.
I will never be as funny as Liz. But I’m not Liz, so it would be a false impersonation at best, if I tried.
God wants to use you. Your quirks. Your personality. Your drive. Your heart.
Will He tweak it? Not so much tweak it, but bring out the best of His creation. The way He made you.
So, today. Be you, my friend. Let God do what He desires in and through your life, but don’t try to be an imitation of anyone else. Because somewhere, some place, there are people waiting to hear your message, your life story, to connect with you in a way that they may never connect with another person.
Just. Be. You.
