aha

Today I sat on my couch listening to a very wise young woman. Amazed. Not because I didn’t think she was wise, but because sometimes God speaks very clear through people. And He was speaking loud and clear at that moment.
Through my daughter.
She made a simple statement: I hear the practical side of what you are saying, but what I’m not hearing is the God part. The vision. Mom. Dad. What does God want for the people you will encounter in this faith step?
Oprah calls them aha moments. I call them Holy Spirit moments. When suddenly the mountain that has been standing in your way, perhaps a mountain created by your own thought processes or actions, is suddenly shifted and you see the larger picture.
I love that it is my wise daughter that asked the question, but more so that God loves us enough to ask us to face the mountains so that we can . . . go.
Today I write with a much lighter heart. Are the obstacles still there? Absolutely, but they have taken their rightful place in the overall picture of what God is trying to show us.
Thank you, Jesus, for aha moments.
The winner of last week’s giveaway is Sherri Sutton. I have sent her an email sharing the news! Congrats, Sherri.
