special, special guest on Moms Together
November 3, 2011 | Books, Family: Nurturing Family
What do you do when the child you prayed for arrives, but you discover they have special needs?
What do you do when you don’t know how to communicate with that beautiful child?
What do you do when you discover that what seems to be silent on the exterior reveals intelligence and depth and a cry to be noticed on the interior?
My guest all day today at Moms Together is Ginnie (Virginia) Brinn, author of an extraordinary new book called I Am In Here.
It is the story of her severely autistic daughter, born w/o special needs and who developed them later after a series of vaccinations, who retreated into a silent world.
Today she is still silent verbally, but is showing us a different side to autism through poetry she has written using a special alphabet board.
The poetry is stunning. Beautiful. Deeply intelligent. And heartbreaking. . .beginning with her poem shared at a very young age titled I Am In Here.
If you have an autistic child or a friend with an autistic child, or you desire to know more about what it means to parent and love an autistic child, you do not want to miss this all-day conversation and giveaway of Ginny’s book, I Am In Here.
This book is endorsed by celebrities such as Tom Brokaw and Jenny McCarthy and many others. Ginnie Breen will be a guest on the Today Show on November 9th, and Elizabeth’s poetry will be read on PBS.
