To live free: shameless audacity

December 2, 2011 | Feelings: Intentional freedom

I remember the first time my friend Kris said this phrase.

Shameless audacity.

He shared how he longed to come before God in the way that scripture showed that we could, in the way that God opened the door for us to come.

As I read Hebrews 4:16, I saw it!

So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most. (NLT) Heb 4:16

There are those moments where we simply come to the end of ourselves, and perhaps the last thing we feel is that we can sashay into the presence of God with boldness. Instead, we creep in with guilt, or walk away in shame.

It’s not that we walk in on our own strength or merit, but that we run in to His presence with boldness, knowing full well our limitations and sin but also what awaits us and what only God can give.

Shameless = without shame

Audacity = with confidence in who God is

Do you need to sit in His presence today? Do you need to sense His grace? Walk in with shameless audacity and receive what only God can give.

To live free: Don’t stay away or be mired in sin or feelings that keep you stuck. Walk in without shame and with confidence in who God is.

Scripture: Hebrews 4:16

Just you and God: Write Hebrews 4:16 somewhere where you can see it every day until it becomes truth.

    Wow! Thanks for that great reminder. I pray I will be able to remind myself …not only did Jesus remove my sin so I can come into the Holy of Holies but he is exactly what he says he is: the great: I Am. It encompasses every situation: if I have sinned he welcomes me and covers me with his blood. If I am overcome by more than I think I can handle he is there and I can be confident in his promises. Thanks again for a powerful reminder of our great God.

    Oops..that should be “he is exactly WHO he says he is” :)
