Why is it important to distinguish between a truth and a lie? Because the more we distinguish truth from a lie the freer we are to join in with God and run after our dreams! We are no longer distracted or derailed by those lies, but we recognize them for what they are so that we can run past them or knock them out of our way.
I’m so glad you joined me today as we study this great book and dig into scripture together! I laughed out loud when I realized that this vlog completely missed the top of my head, but the truth contained in the study is still valid. ♥ So, let’s get started!
Hey ladies, I just returned from a weekend of ministry. Maybe that’s why I look so tired in this video! But I’m truly excited to meet with you over the next 8 weeks every Tuesday right here and on the Live Free Facebook group page.
This is a great study, and I believe it has the potential to change you–and me.
You can also purchase it on Amazon.com or any other online distributor, but the proceeds from the P31 site go 100% right back into reaching women.
Don’t worry if the book doesn’t reach you by Tuesday, the videos don’t go away. They’ll be archived right here on my blog, as well as on my Bible study channel on YouTube (check out past studies!).
I also plan to host a couple of phone studies where we can talk together, pray together, and encourage each other in the journey.
I just arrived home from Atlanta, where I got to hang out with some awesome women at a conference. I made some new friends, and had the privilege of watching God touch the hearts of some of His girls. I love it when that happens! The topic was Spiritual Spa for the Soul, and I shared how God can help us relax in His love, rest spiritually and physically, and be restored by the Master’s touch.
Next weekend, I’ll be in the Fort Worth, Texas area with former Women of Faith speaker Thelma Wells and several other awesome speakers at the Ready to Win conference. If you are in the area, I hope you’ll consider grabbing your best friends and coming to this conference on Saturday, April 2.
Thelma’s heart is to offer a power-packed event at an affordable price, and I believe she’s done just that! I would love to meet you there! My topic is “Dancing Shoes: Turning Your Crossroads Into Turning Points”, sharing how God shows up in the personal crossroads, in the waiting times, and even in the hard times, exploring one truth that will anchor our faith and transform the crossroads into pivotal moments in our lives.
Also, next week I’ll begin a new Bible study. I have loved meeting with many of you each Tuesday. We’ll study What Happens When Women Walk in Faith by Proverbs 31 Ministries, Lysa TerKeurst. Each Tuesday I’ll “meet” with you by video right here and on Live Free Facebook page.
Want to join me? Either hit “like” on the Live Free Facebook page or subscribe to this blog. You can listen to the video at your own pace, share it with a small group, or take it deeper with the study questions posed each week. You can find Lysa’s book here. I plan to give away a copy tomorrow, so I hope I’ll see you again tomorrow.
1. Jennifer Kennedy Dean says that relinquishment (or letting go) is one of the most powerful acts we can do. Looking at your own life, do you agree and why?
2. Your past is simply one chapter of your life. Have you consider the years that have passed as you view yourself and others? Why or why not?
3. Share one label that you are willing to let go.
4. Share one label that you have placed on another person that you are willing to let go.
5. Using Isaiah 43:18-19, create a prayer just between you and your Heavenly Father.
1. Are there “weights” that trip you up as you run the race of life?
2. Write down these three areas: 1) parenting 2) relationships 3) faith.
2a. What is some unhealthy baggage you still carry in these three areas?
2b. Why do you think it’s been hard to let go?
2c. How do you feel as you look at these unhealthy patterns? Is it with anticipation of what God can do? Or is it another unhealthy pattern called guilt? How can you change this response?
3. Write down these three areas one more time: 1) parenting 2) relationships 3) faith
3a. One you unpack the unhealthy patterns, what is one healthy pattern to put in its place?
4. Write down on scriptural promise God has whispered in your heart.
5. How did God speak to you through the scripture and the teaching?
